Stainless Steel Pipes and Tubes

Stainless steel pipes and tubes manufactured by Amardeep Steel Centre, Mumbai

Stainless Steel Pipes and Tubes Manufacturer, Stockist & Exporter in Mumbai, India

Since 1982, Amardeep Steel Centre has been manufacturing, stocking and exporting stainless steel pipes and tubes for projects in oil and gas, pharmaceutical, chemical, power and construction, across India and to more than 40 countries. We hold 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 321, 347, 2205 and 904L in ready stock at our Mumbai warehouse, produced to ASTM A312, A213, A269 and A358.

So why does stainless steel keep winning the spec sheet for demanding service? It comes down to chemistry. Chromium at 16 to 20 percent and nickel at 8 to 14 percent form a self-repairing passive oxide film that shrugs off oxidation, pitting and crevice attack. Add molybdenum, as in the 316 family, and that protection extends into chloride-heavy and marine

environments too, without giving up strength at high temperature. That's the reason process engineers keep coming back to stainless tubing when downtime simply isn't an option.

Every order are sent with an EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 Mill Test Certificate attached. We're ISO 9001:2015 certified, keep NACE MR0175 compliant grades on hand for sour service, and can supplyIBR approved boiler pipes on request. Send us your grade, size and schedule through a quick quote and our technical team will get back to you with pricing and availability the same working day.

What Are Stainless Steel Pipes and Tubes?

Stainless steel pipes

A stainless steel pipe is a hollow section of circular cross section specified by Nominal Pipe Size (NPS) and schedule, designed primarily to convey fluids and gases. Because the controlling dimension is the internal bore, pipe tolerances are governed by the schedule standard rather than by an exact outside diameter. Stainless steel pipes are used throughout oil and gas, chemical processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, food processing and structural framework applications, where strength, corrosion resistance and low maintenance matter more than initial cost. They are produced as seamless stainless steel pipes or welded stainless steel pipes by hot rolling, extrusion or cold drawing, in round, square, rectangular, hexagonal and custom profiles.

Stainless steel tubes

A stainless steel tube is specified by its exact outside diameter and wall thickness, and is used where dimensional precision governs performance in structural, instrumentation and heat transfer duty. Heat exchanger tubes, condenser tubes and instrumentation tubing all fall into this category, as do automotive components, medical equipment and architectural tubing. As a stainless steel tubing supplier we also stock square tubes and rectangular tubes for structural and special purpose work. The distinction matters commercially, because ordering tube tolerances against a pipe standard is the most common cause of rejected material at site. Our guide on the difference between stainless steel pipe and tube explains both sizing conventions in detail.

Types of Stainless Steel Pipes & Tubes We Manufacture

Seamless stainless steel pipes to ASTM A312 in 304 and 316L grades

Seamless stainless steel pipes & tubes

Manufactured without a weld seam by hot extrusion or cold drawing, seamless stainless steel pipes and tubes deliver the highest pressure containment and are the default choice for critical oil and gas, power generation and chemical duty. Available in ½" NB to 24" NB to ASTM A312 and ASME SA312, and as tube to ASTM A213 and ASTM A269.

Welded stainless steel pipes and tubes in ERW and EFW types

Welded stainless steel pipes & tubes

Welded stainless steel pipes and tubes are formed from rolled sheet or strip and seam welded, making them substantially more economical at larger diameters and in non critical service. They are widely used in structural, architectural, automotive and water distribution applications, and supplied to ASTM A312 and ASTM A249.

Welded stainless steel pipes and tubes in ERW and EFW types

ERW stainless steel pipes

Electric Resistance Welded pipes are produced from ½" NB to 24" NB and are the workhorse of general industrial piping where cost per metre governs the specification. Our blog on ERW pipes covers how the seam is formed and tested.

Large diameter EFW stainless steel pipes to ASTM A358 from 6 to 100 inch NB

EFW and large diameter stainless steel pipes

Electric Fusion Welded pipe covers 6" NB to 100" NB for industrial pipelines, desalination plants and large bore structural work, manufactured to ASTM A358 and ASME B36.19M.

Specialty forms

We also produce stainless steel coil tubing for instrumentation and umbilical use, micro tubes for medical and analytical equipment, sanitary tubing to ASTM A249, A269 and A270 for food, dairy and pharma, oval pipes and tubes for architectural work, and EN 10216-5 tubes for European specifications.

Stainless Steel Pipe Size, Schedule and Weight Charts

Pipe schedule defines wall thickness and therefore pressure capacity at a given nominal pipe size. Sch 5S and 10S are the light wall stainless schedules used where corrosion allowance is unnecessary, Sch 40S and 80S cover most process piping, and Sch 160 and XXS are reserved for high pressure service. For a fuller explanation see our guide to the difference between Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 pipe, or browse our dedicated Schedule 40 pipe and Schedule 80 pipe pages.

Frequently Asked Questions - Stainless Steel Pipes & Tubes

What is the difference between a stainless steel pipe and a tube?

A pipe is specified by Nominal Pipe Size and schedule and is designed to convey fluids, so its controlling dimension is the internal bore. A tube is specified by exact outside diameter and wall thickness with tighter tolerances, and is used for structural, instrumentation and heat transfer duty.

What is the difference between 304 and 316 stainless steel pipe?

316 contains 2 to 3 percent molybdenum, which 304 does not. That addition gives 316 markedly better resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride bearing and marine environments. 304 is more economical and performs well in general atmospheric, food and architectural service.

What sizes of stainless steel pipe do you supply?

Seamless and ERW pipe from half inch NB to 24 inch NB, EFW pipe from 6 inch NB to 100 inch NB, and tube from 5.8 mm to 508 mm outside diameter with wall thickness from 0.3 mm to 50 mm, in schedules from 5S through XXS.

Which standards do your stainless steel pipes and tubes conform to?

Pipes are supplied to ASTM A312 and ASME SA312, and to ASTM A358 for EFW. Tubes follow ASTM A213, A249, A269 and A270 for sanitary service. Duplex products follow ASTM A789 and A790, and European requirements are met to EN 10216-5.

Do you supply mill test certificates?

Yes. Every order ships with an EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 Mill Test Certificate showing heat number, chemical analysis and mechanical test results, plus a dimensional inspection report. Third party inspection by Lloyd's, BV, SGS, TUV or EIL is available on request.

Are IBR approved stainless steel boiler pipes available?

Yes. We supply IBR certified stainless steel boiler pipes compliant with the Indian Boiler Regulations, with Form III-C documentation, for power and process plant across India.
