Stainless Steel Forged Socket Weld Pipe Fittings - ISO Certified Manufacturer & Exporter

SS Socket Weld Fittings are forged high-pressure pipe fittings where the pipe is inserted into a recessed socket area and a fillet weld is applied around the pipe end. This configuration ensures leak-free joints with maximum structural integrity making them the preferred choice for high-pressure process piping.
Amardeep Steel Centre manufactures these fittings using premium austenitic stainless steel bar stock and seamless pipe. Each fitting is forged (not cast), ensuring superior grain structure, higher pressure ratings, and consistent mechanical properties throughout.
Our ASTM A182 Socket Weld Fittings are dimensionally compliant to ANSI B16.11 and are available in Class 3000#, 6000#, and 9000# pressure ratings. For larger bore piping beyond 4 inches, consider our SS Buttweld Fittings range. We supply to refineries, petrochemical plants, power plants, shipbuilding, and pharmaceutical facilities worldwide.
Why Socket Weld vs Threaded?
- No thread leakage risk — full fillet weld seals the joint permanently
- Higher pressure ratings — Class 3000# to 9000# vs threaded Class 2000# max
- Suitable for hazardous media — flammable, toxic, and expensive fluids
- No pipe beveling required — reduces installation time and cost
- Cleaner internal bore — better flow characteristics and reduced turbulence
Available SS Grades for Socket Weld Fittings
We manufacture socket weld fittings across all major austenitic stainless steel grades per ASTM A182. Select your grade based on temperature, corrosion environment, and pressure requirements.
ASTM A182 F304 / F304L — UNS S30400 / S30403
Most widely used grade. Excellent corrosion resistance, high ductility, and weldability. 304L has lower carbon for enhanced resistance to intergranular corrosion after welding.
ASTM A182 F316 / F316L — UNS S31600 / S31603
Contains 2–3% molybdenum for superior resistance to pitting and chloride corrosion. Ideal for marine, pharmaceutical, and chemical processing applications.
ASTM A182 F321 / F321H — UNS S32100
Titanium-stabilised grade for high-temperature service up to 900°C. Used in refineries, power plants, and exhaust systems. 321H has higher carbon for enhanced creep resistance.
ASTM A182 F347 / F347H — UNS S34700
Niobium-stabilised. Excellent for high-temperature and nuclear applications. 347H preferred for boilers and pressure vessels above 550°C.
ASTM A182 F904L — UNS N08904
Super-austenitic grade with high Mo, Ni, and Cu. Exceptional resistance to sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and seawater. Used in FGD systems and chemical plants.
ASTM A182 F310S / F317L
310S for extreme heat resistance up to 1100°C in furnace applications. 317L has higher Mo than 316L for superior chloride and sulfuric acid resistance.

Frequently Asked Questions — SS Socket Weld Fittings
What is the difference between Class 3000# and Class 6000# socket weld fittings?
Class 3000# (3000 LBS) socket weld fittings are designed for moderate high-pressure service and are available in sizes 1/8″ to 4″. Class 6000# fittings have heavier walls and are rated for higher pressure, available up to 2″ in size. Class 9000# is available for extreme-pressure applications. The class determines wall thickness and bore geometry as per ANSI B16.11.
What ASTM standard governs SS socket weld fittings?
Stainless steel socket weld fittings are covered by ASTM A182 / ASME SA182 for material and mechanical properties and dimensionally by ASME B16.11. MSS SP-83 covers Class 3000# and 6000# unions, while BS 3799 applies for petroleum industry service. All fittings carry EN 10204 / 3.1 test certificates as standard.
Which grade is recommended for high-temperature socket weld applications?
For service temperatures above 550°C, SS 321H (ASTM A182 F321H) or SS 347H (F347H) are recommended. 321H contains titanium stabilisation that prevents carbide precipitation, while 347H uses niobium for enhanced creep strength. Both grades are widely used in refinery heaters, power plant steam lines, and petrochemical reactors.
Can socket weld fittings be used with seamless pipe?
Yes. Socket weld fittings are compatible with both seamless and welded pipe provided the pipe OD matches socket bore dimensions per ANSI B16.11. Seamless pipe combined with socket weld fittings is preferred in critical high-pressure applications such as chemical injection and HP steam lines.
Do you provide third-party inspection for socket weld fittings?
Yes. Third-party inspection is accepted from Bureau Veritas, TÜV, Lloyd's Register, SGS, and TPIA. Documentation includes radiography reports, PMI certificates, hydrostatic test reports, and EN 10204 / 3.2 MTC upon request.
